Head of Operations CSDP

    Diploma or Degree would be advantageous
  • Experience Required:
    3-5 years’ experience in a managerial role at a CSDP

The role involves managing and overseeing all operations of the CSDP and will report directly to the Head of Custody. The role requires the manager to reduce the department’s exposure to risk by ensuring that internal processes, rules, procedures, policies as well as Strate’s Rules and Directives and any other relevant legislation is adhered to.
Job requirements:
Manage and oversee Custodial Services i.e. all areas and functions in the CSDP Ensuring that all processes are documented and adhered to
Ensure that regular reviews are conducted on all documented processes
Identify all potential settlement problems and ensure that the matter is resolved effectively and timeously
Manage and oversee the monthly billing process
Ensure that the bank reconciliations are signed off daily
Manage and oversee the dividend tax process
Ensure that applicable taxes are paid timeously to SARS (STT, VAT etc.) Ensure that bi-annual statements are sent to clients timeously in accordance with the Strate Rules
Ensuring that all deadlines are met and all event files are signed off and audited/reviewed timeously
Assist and support the BEE Operations Manager
Monitor and ensure that exception reports are cleared timeously
Ensure that all Market testing is conducted timeously
Review and distribute various reports on a daily basis, resolve issues therein or report on status of unresolved issues
Effective planning, organising and decision making
Business Development and Client retention
Liaising with clients i.e. institutional and individual, Strate and all other relevant parties / regulators Attend meetings with clients
Attend market meetings and provide feedback to staff
Building and maintaining client relationships
Keep abreast of market changes and keep clients informed
Ensure that the structure of the CSDP conforms to regulatory requirements
Ensuring compliance with internal rules and procedures
Ensure that company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
Ensure that all staff have the necessary skills required to complete their duties
Advise management of best practices
Reporting of breaches, discrepancies or irregularities detected to management and compliance
Assist management with any issues relating to the control and mitigation of risk relating to internal controls and procedures
Assist the Compliance team with internal and external audits
